Meet the Editor: Oniska Blevins

Hello and welcome to Blackbelt Reports. I am so honored you have decided to trust us with your local news stories and am proud to be a servant of the community. I grew up in Sprott, Alabama and graduated from Francis Marion High School in 2009.

I later received my Bachelor’s  Degree in Telecommunications and Film from The University of Alabama in 2013. I then went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications in 2016 from Troy University.

In 2018 I became a member of the Selma Alumnae Chapter Of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where I currently serve as the Economic Development Committee Chair.

I am an avid book reader and travel enthusiast. I started my career in journalism in 2018 and have worked in both print and digital media.

It is my hope that Blackbelt Reports provides positive, yet accurate updates on local news. I thank you for joining us on this journey and entrusting us with your stories.
